Making Private Website in WordPress

The first thing you should do is to install and activate My Private Site plugins. To configure the plugin settings, you must go to Settings >> Private Site page after activation.

To enable the plugin, you must first tick the box in the ‘Enable login privacy’ section. It will make your site private.

Next, you will allow users to register on WordPress. If you don’t want users to register on your WordPress site, you can skip this section.

You can select which page users will see upon login by going to the ‘Landing page’ section. By default, the plugin would send back users to their login URL. Users can be redirected to the WordPress admin dashboard, homepage, or any other URL on WordPress.

The custom login page section will apply if you have a WordPress site with a unique login page. Simply check the box to enter the URL of your customized login page. This URL will be used as the login page by the plugin.

You can also exclude certain parts from your website using the My Private Site plugin. If you have a static homepage and want people to see it, you can add it to the exclusion list. Other URLs, such as a contact form and about page, can be added to the exclusion list.

To save your settings, don’t forget about clicking the Save Changes button.

Anyone visiting your website will be required to log in before they can access your website. Depending on the settings you have, users might see pages they don’t want to see or just the login page.
